On May 5th, 2016, people are encouraged to make a contribution to one or more of the nonprofits they already give to or to find a new one to support.
"This really allows organizations to reach out to their communities and focus on their mission, really making Idaho a better place for all of us," says Erin Hutto with the Idaho Not-for-profit Center.
Some nonprofits hope to persist in their efforts through the donations. Others use the occasion to advance the cause of fundraising and awareness a step further, such as the Boise Bicycle Project. On that day, they will be touring the many other concerns in and around Boise that they work in tandem with to help make people's lives better.
The Idaho Nonprofit Center also provides training to nonprofits so they can become more efficient organizations and make the most of the Idaho Gives with media training and other support.
The registration period for nonprofits to participate in Idaho gives is now closed.
