The Idaho Falls Police Department is currently working to identify a body pulled from the Snake River Wednesday.

Idaho Falls dispatchers received a report of a body floating in the Snake River near the south end of South Tourist Park about 9 a.m. Wednesday. Bonneville Sheriff's Office deputies responded with a boat and jet skis, eventually pulling the body from the water.

"We have reason to believe this is Kayla Davis," said Detective Sergeant John Marley. "However, we have not made a positive identification and we can't be certain until then," emphasizing that the identification process may take some time to complete.

Marley confirmed detectives contacted the Davis family, making them aware of the recovery. Davis was reported to have fallen in the river twenty days ago.

Post-mortem exams are scheduled to be conducted in the next few days, investigators said.
