IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- An Idaho Falls man has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the roadside beating death of another man.
The Post-Register reported that 23-year-old Tanner Cox was convicted Saturday in the death of 36-year-old Josh Olzak. Prosecutors had pursued a more serious charge of voluntary manslaughter.
Police say Cox and several other men in at least two cars chased Olzak and his friend across town on May 9. Cox punched Olzak, knocking him down and fracturing his skull. Olzak died days later.
Cox become emotional during his testimony and said he yelled for help when he realized how badly Olzak was hurt.
Bonneville County prosecutor Daniel Clark says he hasn't decided on a sentencing recommendation yet.
Cox's attorney says he will ask for a rehabilitation program at a minimum security prison.
