Ada County officials say they will recount the votes of an Eagle city council election -- after one candidate narrowly lost to her opponent by five votes.
The Idaho Statesman reports that Jill Mitchell lost to Kenny Pittman earlier this year, while seeking a seat on the Eagle City Council. She then immediately requested a recount.
Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden ordered the recount Wednesday.
According to Wasden's spokesman, Scott Graf, the state will cover the costs of the recount because Mitchell lost by less than one-tenth of one percent of the vote.
The recount will take place Dec. 7.
