CUSTER COUNTY — Custer County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the murder of a young man who’s body was found burned and buried.

Sheriff’s Office officials and the Idaho State Police found the body in the Morgan Creek drainage area of Custer County Sunday evening, after receiving a tip.

An autopsy confirmed the body as that of Charles McBride, 23.

McBride was reported missing on March 3. A Custer County Sheriff’s Office news recreate said McBride was last seen February 25 as he left to go to work.

Investigators with both the Custer County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho State Police searched for the man.

On March 24, “The Sheriff’s Office was provided information which led to the recovery of the body,” the release said. No details were released.

“There are several persons of interest being interviewed,” the release added. “The ongoing investigation is being retreated as a homicide.”

If you have any information about McBride, you are urged to contact the Custer County Sheriff’s Office at 208-879-2232, or its anonymous tip line at 208-879-5372.
