TSA and the Boise Airport are prepared for record levels of travelers flying this year. TSA expects to see an average of 6000 departing travelers every day at the airport which is about an eight percent increase. They say the busiest times to go through the security check points are from five to eight in the morning and then again from 12:30 to three in the afternoon.

Boise Airport officials say they'll likely see a steady stream of travelers clear through January third and they do have some recommendations to make flying as smooth as possible.

"One of the big tips we have for people traveling this time of year is if you can, don't wrap those presents until you get to your destination because if security does find something and they're not sure what it is, they're going to have to unwrap those and look at what's inside," said Sean Briggs, Boise Airport Marketing Manager.

TSA wants to remind travelers that liquids, gels, aerosols, creams, and pastes must be 3.4 ounces or less for a carry-on bag. Make sure to have that valid ID and boarding pass ready to go before going through the travel document podium.

The Boise Airport and TSA recommend travelers arrive at least ninety minutes before take-off. Officials expect some 400 flights nationally to be delayed because of weather, so be sure to check your flight's status ahead of time
