Healthcare advocates took to the Idaho statehouse Saturday to celebrate the anniversaries of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. All three were signed into law during the summer months. Social Security turns 82 on August 14th.

On Saturday United Vision for Idaho, which represents more than 40 non-profit groups, celebrated the programs with cake. They feel the programs are under attack and invited Idaho's representatives to hear from constituents about the impact they've had on Idahoans.

"We paid into all of these programs it was a contract that was made with Americans and now they are threatening to strip them or gut them all together," said United Vision for Idaho Executive Director Adrienne Evans.

While none of Idaho's delegation attended the event. State leaders including Representative Cherie Buckner-Webb of Boise made an appearance.
