HAPPENING TODAY: Event being held for Boise River Action Month

BOISE, Idaho — Ada and Canyon County mayors are making a joint proclamation to declare August at Boise River Action Month.

The event shows the mayors support for fishable, swimmable and drinkable water. It will also serve as the launch of the Boise River: Source to Snake journey for nationally acclaimed swimmer Christopher Swain.

The event starts at 11:30 Tuesday morning near the Bandshell at Julia Davis Park. Idaho Business for the Outdoors is putting on the event. Representatives Mat Erpelding and Ilana Rubel are part of this group.

Swain will then dive into the river for his attempt the be the first person to swim the entire Boise River.
