CALDWELL — The Caldwell Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for stealing outdoor Christmas lights and decorations from a number of homes in a Caldwell neighborhood.

Much like how “the Grinch” made off with Christmas decorations from the residents of Who-ville in the Dr. Seuss holiday classic, police say the suspect stole lights from at least one home in the 16700 block of Bayou Way in Caldwell about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Decorations from other homes were also stolen, but police do not yet know if the same suspect was responsible.

Officers say the bearded man was seen wearing a ball cap, a T-shirt and jeans. An image of the man was caught on a home surveillance camera.

Police did not disclose the monetary value of the stolen decorations.

If you’ve see this man, or know anything about the thefts, you are urged to contact Canyon County Dispatch at 208-454-7531. Or you can call Crimestoppers at 208-343-COPS (2677).
