BOISE, Idaho — This article was written by Don Day with BoiseDev.
We put out the call for local businesses that were offering ways to do business online or via the phone, and our Facebook group was flooded with ideas.
This idea was inspired by my dad, a local visual artist. Many of his products are posted to Facebook and you can contact him via Facebook to buy or put together something custom.
As a small, locally-owned business, BoiseDev believes deeply in supporting the community that supports us. Here are a few of the dozens of other local businesses that you can support with no or minimal human contact in the coming days. Some of these businesses will also be featured tonight on KIVI 6 On Your Side.
From Nathalie Catherine: Janjou Patisserie: you can order pastries and quiche online for pickup.
From Evan McLaughlin: Guru Donuts has added free delivery to their existing online ordering, you can also order pickup – they will bring out to you. Direct from their website you can order donuts, food from Toasted and they are adding Donut Decorating Kits which will include plain donuts, glaze and sprinkles as a fun activity for kids or adults. Delivery is FREE and for every order Guru Donuts will donate 5 meals to the Idaho Food Bank.
From Dan Balluff: City Peanut Shop on Bannock St. will deliver locally within 8 miles of downtown. We can also do curbside pickup if you call ahead. We will be meeting with our neighbors to pool resources for delivery since some companies charge up to 30% of the food ticket to deliver. We appreciate any support and are doing our best to maintain employee payroll so financial impact is small.
From Heather Colby: Great Harvest Bread Co (Curtis & Fairview) is open for business, but lunch from our cafe is takeout only. Thanks for featuring small, local businesses!
From Ilene Dudunake: I own A New Vintage Wine Shop in Meridian and I’m offering curbside pick up on wine! Our customers can call us and I’ll have it ready! Tuesday through Saturday 11-8! 208-855-9230. 🍷
From Melissa Lightfoot Levick: Western Collective is launching free local delivery of Beer, Tiki Juice, and Frosé (well, all slushes!). Select “delivery” to have the beer delivered to your door (there must be someone over 21+ to sign for the delivery) and “pick up” if you’d like to swing by our parking lot for hands-free pick up (you will also be asked to show ID that you are over 21).
From Stacy Connelly: Boise Beer Buddies promotes events at over 100 local businesses. Beer Buddy members purchase an annual membership to receive discounts at these local businesses, introducing them to undiscovered establishments and encouraging them to support local. With many of these businesses closing their doors temporarily, new memberships will be valid through June 2021 plus 25% off with promo code BUDDY. In the meantime, we are encouraging members to continue to support small businesses while they are still operating.
Food and markets
From Lisa Brady: Lark & Larder are my good friends who started up just this past fall. They carry foods that you’d find at the farmers markets, plus work by artists across the valley. A little store with great things!
From Boise Farmers Market: Boise Farmers Market has created a Local Food Locator to assist our farmers market community and our vendors. We are updating it as more information comes in.
From Lea Rainey: Roots Zero Waste Market has a daily deli case full of gluten-free, vegan and flexitarian prepared meals. The list of items is updated on our cafe website, daily by 10am. Call us for pickup in the parking lot or our doors are still open with lots of room for social distancing. We also have fresh organic produce, beans, grains, rice, pasta, spices, cooking oils, household goods like detergents, and personal care items available . We are more than happy to take orders over the phone from 9am-6pm for pickup if anyone needs any staples (tp excluded). Our supply chain for healthy food is strong and we’re happy to be of service.
From itsagoodburger: Order from our Good Burger online website and pick up in-store or choose delivery! 🍔

We will even video the resin pour and share it with you! Thank you so much for supporting local makers! ❤️
