Get ready! Idaho ski resorts are opening this week

With recent storms delivering 28 inches of snow early this month, many ski resorts in Idaho are opening for the winter season this week.

Bogus Basin ski resort north of  Boise announced its partial opening this Thursday and Friday.

The full, seven-day operations at Bogus will begin this Saturday, December 8th. Weekend hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Night skiing will open Friday, December 21st, officials said.

Brundage Mountain announced that it will be opening "top to bottom" for daily operations starting this Friday, December 7th.

The McCall ski area has received fifteen inches of fresh snow this week -- a total of 30 inches since Thanksgiving.

A Brundage spokesperson says the resort will kick off full-time operations Friday and will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The winter season also kicks off at Tamarack this Friday.  The resort near Donnelly will open for skiing and snowboarding at 9 a.m. -- and will remain open on a 7-day-a-week basis for the remainder of the winter.

The new owners of Tamarack say visitors will not experience any noticeable changes. Season passes, and Express Cards purchased for the 2018-19 season will be honored; day ticket prices will remain the same; and all previously-scheduled events -- such as weddings, conferences, and competitions -- will be honored and will proceed as scheduled.

Sun Valley’s Warm Springs and Dollar Mountain are opening this weekend as well.

The Warm Springs side of Bald Mountain is opening with the Challenger lift running on Saturday, Dec. 8th at 9:00 a.m. Restrooms and ticketing services will be available until the Warm Springs Day Lodge re-opens on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 8:00 a.m., officials said.

The public is invited to attend the official ‘grand reopening celebration’ of the Warm Springs Day Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 22nd at 11:00 a.m. for the ribbon-cutting -- and hot chocolate chip cookies.

The annual Winter Wonderland event starts with the Fashion Kick-off Party at the Brass Ranch this Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Locals’ Party in the Village will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a visit by Santa, cookie decorating in the Boiler Room, the kids’ train, and a scavenger hunt.
