MERIDIAN — The Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation puts on a free sports camp in every city where Garth Brooks tours.

On Saturday the foundation held their first ever golf camp with more than one hundred children at the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County in Meridian.

"It's great, it's exciting to see new kids and to see the smiles on their faces," said Scott Zebedis of the Garth Brooks Foundation. "We hope they have some fun and learn a little bit too."

The foundation partners with Pro Camps who reached out to the First Tee of Idaho who put together a lot of the logistics of this event in an effort to teach kids the game of golf in a fun way while also encouraging teamwork and community.

"Honestly I had no idea that Garth Brooks did these type of events and it's absolutely incredible," said Katie McKelvey of First Tee of Idaho.

This is the 79th camp the foundation has held and it's Garth Brooks way of giving back when he comes into town for a concert.
