Bond is set at one million dollars for a man accused in an Ontario murder.

Jaime Escobedo, 41, of Fruitland appeared before a Payette County judge Monday afternoon.

Escobedo is facing charges of felony attempting to elude an officer and misdemeanor resisting and obstructing arrest, according to the Idaho Press.

Ontario Police say they found a deceased 38-year-old man in the parking lot of the Los Portrillos Restaurant after responding to reports of a dispute at the restaurant at around 10:30 Sunday morning.

Escobedo was later spotted near Enterprise Blvd near Highway 201 by Nyssa Police and lead officers on an hour-long chase through Canyon and Payette Counties. After running off, police finally caught Escobedo near I-84 and Sand Hollow Road.

Officers arrested Escobedo when he tried to run after the chase.

Prosecutors say Escobedo will be back in court for a preliminary hearing next month.

Escobedo will likely be extradited to Orion to face charges in relation to the shooting.

The victim’s name in the shooting has not yet been released.
