BOISE, Idaho — This upcoming Friday, October 9, is the deadline to register to vote online ahead of Election Day on November 3. You can register or update registration online on the Idaho Votes website.

The Ada County Elections Office says the upcoming deadline is especially important for voters who choose to vote absentee. Absentee ballots can be requested through October 23, but you have to have registered or updated your registration by October 9. You can request an absentee ballot on the Idaho Votes website as well.

“We encourage potential voters to register to vote as soon possible, whether you choose to vote absentee, early voting or on Election Day at the polls," said Ada County Clerk Phil McGrane. "Existing voters should check their registration and make sure their information is up-to-date. Taking care of this ahead of Election Day helps you save time at the polls and makes the process go more smoothly for everyone."

If you don't register online by October 9, you can register at the polls at early voting locations and on Election Day. For more information about elections in Ada County, click here or call the Ada County Elections Office at 208-287-6860.
