NAMPA — A former Nampa teacher has been arrested for inappropriately touching a child.
On Tuesday, Nampa Police detectives arrested Keith Odell Peterson, 70, of Nampa for one count of lewd conduct with a child under sixteen and one count of sexual battery of a child.
“Nampa Police began an investigation that Peterson inappropriately touched a juvenile male,” said Nampa Police spokesman Investigator Gary Marang. “During the investigation, detectives received information that Peterson may have had inappropriate contact with another juvenile. It was also determined that Peterson was a teacher in the Nampa School District several years ago. Based on this information and Peterson’s access to juveniles, there is concern that there may be more victims.”
Detectives said the juvenile victim knew Peterson, but was not a former student.
