A Meridian man has been booked into the Ada County Jail on ten felony burglary counts -– after police followed footprints in the snow to track him down.
Boise Police patrol officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in the area of Ranchero Way and Targee Street about 2:00 a.m. on Friday.
“Reports indicated a male adult had broken into a home and stolen a number of items before fleeing on foot,” according to a Boise Police Department news release. Officers made sure the suspect was no longer at or near the house, then began searching the area.
“Officers located more evidence of vehicle break-ins which had occurred in the surrounding area, and were able to follow footprints in the snow to a man walking near Overland Road and Milwaukee Street. Upon speaking with the man, officers found evidence that he was in possession of several items suspected of being stolen,” the release stated.
Officers took Jayvon Walker, 21, into custody and transported him to the Ada County Jail.
