Five charged in Caldwell shooting

Four adults and one juvenile have been arrested in connection with the March 29th shooting of a 17-year-old boy at a Caldwell mobile home park.

Police say the boy was shot multiple times. The shooting took place just before midnight in the 2700 block of Arrowhead Drive, just off East Linden Street, in Caldwell. Officers say the boy become involved in an argument with several people, one of whom had a gun. Another reportedly had a knife.

A Caldwell Police Department spokesman says Street Crimes Unit detectives followed up on a numerous leads, which eventually led to the identification of a group of suspects.

Arrested were:

-Isaiah Zuniga, 21, of Greenleaf. He’s charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated battery, and unlawful possession of a firearm

-Justin Matthew Archila, 18, of Middleton, is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery

-Tanya Sue Maddox,36, of Caldwell is charged with aiding and abetting a robbery

-Carl Lee Fadling, 31, of Caldwell was arrested on an unrelated arrest warrant

-and a juvenile male (whose name was not released, given his age) was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery

“We determined they were involved in a planned robbery of the juvenile victim outside of his home. Isaiah Zuniga has been charged as the man who shot the victim,” said Caldwell Police spokesman Capt. Devin Riley.

“The suspects were located and arrested at several different locations throughout Canyon County. The investigation is ongoing, but all suspects involved are currently in custody,” Riley added.

The victim remains hospitalized. His condition has been upgraded from critical to stable, Riley said.
