The miles kept adding up for one local first grader who broke the record at his school this year.
Whittier Elementary's "Mileage Club" challenges youngsters to accumulate 100 miles during recess by the end of the school year.
However, Noah Meyring, 7, far surpassed the goal. He logged a total of 328 miles.
Meyring already has a plan for next year.
"I'm going to Alaska for the summer," Meyring said. "So, next year, I'm going to go for 400 [miles]."
