Crews from the Parma, Wilder, and Caldwell Fire Departments were able to quickly extinguish a fire in a farmhouse in Notus early Friday morning.

“We believe the cause to be old faulty wiring,” said Caldwell Fire Department Battalion Chief Tim Scott.

The call came in about 5:45 a.m., according to a Canyon County dispatcher.

The house is located near the intersection of Notus Road and How Road, in rural Canyon County.

The house was unoccupied.

The fire was confined to the basement, according to fire officials.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
