A fire left a house badly damaged in Parma Sunday night just off of highway 95.
Drivers passing by saw smoke coming from the home and called 911.
When crews arrived on scene the homeowners were attempting to remove items from the burning house.
The second floor of the home is a total loss, but the first floor and the basement are still intact.
"No injuries. The first crews arrived and got the dogs out. They didn't want to go and we recovered some vital
medications and hearing aids that they needed so all in all very sad," said Chief James Cook of Parma Fire.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
