Fire season is underway, as crews hope to have a fire near Swan Falls contained by late tonight.
Boise BLM crews, with assistance from other agencies, are still investigating the blaze that required resources from the ground and the air, including eight smoke jumpers. That fire is roughly 15 acres, with no structures threatened.
Another 12-acre fire south of Marsing was also reported tonight, around 6:30. Marsing Rural Fire and BLM crews responded by ground and by air. Although our temperatures have cooled down, high winds and dry brush continue to pose a constant threat for wildfires.
