NEW PLYMOUTH, Idaho — A church in New Plymouth is a total loss, after a fire broke out late Sunday night. Multiple crews responded to the fire at First Baptist Church, most crews staying on scene until 4:00 a.m. Monday morning.

At this time, officials with the Idaho State Fire Marshal's Office believe the fire started in the attic, but an excavator needs called in before they can safely investigate the cause.

The church is insured, and the structure is a total loss with water damage in the lower levels.

The fire is causing a change in the polling station for Payette County voters.

Voters in Precincts 9 and 10 will now vote at the New Plymouth School District Office at 222 N. Plymouth Ave. Any voters with questions should contact the Payette County Clerks office at 208-642-6000.
