Boise Fire Department crews have responded to a fire at the Simplot office buidling under construction in downtown Boise, at 1000 West Myrtle Street.

The fire broke out shortly after 2 p.m., according to an Ada County dispatcher, in a man-lift arm, commonly known as a “cherry picker.”

Simplot spokesman Ken Dey said police have blocked off a section of Myrtle Street.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
