600 flags fly in the wind at Reid Merrill Park in Eagle, this field of honor is the longest running of its kind in the country.

It started back in 2008 with former Eagle Mayor Nancy Merrill, however in the last several years, it has been taken over by sisters Kathy Coburn and Heather Paredes.

Each flag is dedicated to a serviceman or woman who fought in a war, anybody can get a flag dedicated for a veteran for $30 and when the field comes down on Tuesday after Memorial Day the person who bought the flag gets to keep it.

This is a volunteer effort and all of the money raised goes towards Brave Hearts Idaho to help veterans in need.
