BOISE, Idaho — Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day? Here's what you need to know!

A rally is planned along the statehouse steps to commemorate MLK Day.The festivities will start around 8:30 a.m. at Boise State's Jordan Ballroom in the Student Union Building, where anyone is welcome to come make posters for the march.

Around 10:30 a.m. the crowd will march from Boise State to the Capitol Building, taking University and Capitol Boulevard. After the march, student speakers will kick off a rally along the statehouse steps. At noon, everyone will be invited inside to the Capitol rotunda for a celebration honoring Human Rights Day.

As you make plans for your Monday, don't forget many offices and businesses will be closed for the Federal Holiday.

Most schools and libraries will be closed, as well as county, state and federal offices. Post offices and most banks will be closed as well, with no regular mail deliveries on Monday. All state liquor stores will be open, and trash pick-up and public transportation should be running on normal schedules.

In Atlanta, the National Park Service will use a grant from Delta Air Lines and fee revenues to reopen the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park despite the government shutdown.
