BOISE, Idaho — When it comes to spending money on our kids' education, Idaho ranks almost dead last.

The Census Bureau released a new report on per-pupil spending. The national average was $12,200 for every student.

Idaho spends just under $7,500 per child. That means for every dollar spent per-pupil nationally, Idaho spends 61 cents.

The only state spending less money on its students than Idaho is Utah.
