Early pregnancy loss memorial opens in Nampa

Parents who’ve experienced miscarriage or early pregnancy loss now have a place in our community to remember their children.

Kohlerlawn Cemetery unveiled it’s memorial spot this morning. It’s the temporary spot before a permanent scattering area is opened.

Parents tell us burial costs and funeral arrangements can be a big burden during this grieving process, so this area was dedicated for people of every faith to have some peace.

"I hope that this memorial and place of reflection can be somewhere families can come and remember their children, and it can start to change the stigma around pregnancy and infant loss,” said attendee Rachel Cossel.

We’ll have more in-depth coverage of how this memorial came about next week on 6 On Your Side.
