HORSESHOE BEND, Idaho — The Eagle Rodeo is kicking off Thursday in its new location just north of Avimor, off Highway 55.

The rodeo made the move in the last year after a land lease ended at the old location in downtown Eagle. Gates open at 5 p.m., with kids events starting at 6 and the rodeo at 7:30. Rodeo fans are invited to hang around and meet the cowboys and cowgirls at the After-Rodeo Party. Food and beverage vendors will be open as you mingle and have a good time.

Discounted tickets are available for purchase at Bi-Mart locations and D & B Supply. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate.

Themed nights:

  • Thursday, June 6 is Military Night. Wear camouflage and kids 12 and under are free with a paid general admission ticket. The boot pass will support Pets for Vets, connecting military veterans with rescue animals.
  • Friday, June 7 is Tough Enough to Wear Pink. It is encouraged to wear pink and help fill the boot to support Saint Alphonsus's breast cancer research. The Saint Alphonsus mammogram mobile will be on site.
  • Saturday, June 8 is Burnout Red Night. Join Eagle Rodeo in support of the Eagle Firefighters Burnout Fund as they pass the boot and wear red to support those who support the Eagle community.

Money generated through ticket sales go to local organizations and charities directly benefiting the Eagle community. Some are geared toward education and healing, some toward youth, while others provide needed monetary support to returning veterans. Past recipients are honored for their dedication in serving the community through outreach programs.

Eagle Rodeo has a physical address at the rodeo grounds with a designated pickup and drop off areas for Uber and Lyft drivers. That address is 5337 Highway 55 Horseshoe Bend, Idaho 83669.

And a documentary about the Eagle Rodeo was made recently, highlighting the move to it's currently location. You can watch that here.
