BOISE, Idaho — Boise Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened near the intersection of Orchard and Fairview Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area around 4:25 p.m. and found a single car crashed into a tree on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The driver was the only person in the car, according to a news release. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash.

The Ada County Coroner's Office has identified the man as 40-year-old Daniel Suvaine.

"A preliminary investigation indicates that the involved vehicle was traveling east on Fairview when it veered into the westbound lanes," A BPD press release stated. "The vehicle then continued through the intersection at Orchard at a high rate of speed before crashing into a tree on the northeast corner of the intersection."

Boise Police Department detectives and a crash reconstruction team responded to the scene and an investigation is underway.
