The Ada County coroner has identified the man who was pulled from a truck after driving into a pond yesterday mornin. Joseph Klonowski of Meridian was driving near the intersection of Highway 16 and State Street near Star when his pickup left the road and drove into a manmade pond.
Rescuers pulled the 21 year old from the truck, but Klonowski died at Saint Alphonsus in Boise. The Ada County Coroner says the death is being investigated as natural vs. accidental. Witnesses report Klonowski was slumped over the steering wheel before his vehicle left the road.
Outside testing for cause of death could take several weeks.
The call came in to dispatchers shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses said it appeared the Klonowski was alone when the truck left the roadway.
Fire crews rescued the driver –- described as an adult man -– and transported him to a Saint Alphonsus.
