Dems send starchy message to Idaho's delegation in DC

Idaho's delegation in Washington is getting a little taste of home in the mail from state democrats.

A spokeswoman for the Idaho Democratic Party says they mailed 60 potatoes to Idaho's congressmen and senators, but not before they posted photos on Twitter.

The potatoes have handwritten messages on them and were signed by voters during the Democratic party's annual fundraiser. Democrats say it is all because Idaho's delegation did not hold any town halls during their recent break and voters want to voice concerns on issues that are important to them.

"Public lands though was probably the biggest message we got, and then a lot of people just said, "Do your job. Answer my phone calls. Respond to my e-mails. Things like that," said Shelby Scott of the Idaho Democratic Party.

While Idaho's delegation has not held any town hall meetings recently, many spoke to voters at recent Lincoln Day events. The Idaho Democratic Party says they may be sending them more potatoes in the future.
