EMMETT, Idaho — Southwest District Health is joining a partnership with Crush the Curve Idaho to provide more COVID-19 testing options in their district.

The new site in Emmett will be open through the end of 2020, providing free testing for people who have been exposed and/or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. The site is located at Butte View Complex in Emmett starting on December 19.

Crush the Curve Idaho recently opened a testing site at the Boise Airport. The organization also has a location in Meridian at the Ten Mile Crossing Development.

For people with insurance, the lab that processes the test will bill your provider. All co-pays are waived through the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Crush the Curve says if your provider denies coverage, the State of Idaho will cover the test's cost, and you will not receive a bill. If you do not have insurance, the Families First Coronavirus Act covers the cost of testing completely.

To make an appointment for a test, go to the Crush the Curve website and take the assessment. You will be asked for insurance information and be given a case number, which you need to bring with you to your appointment.

Your results will be sent in an email 24 to 36 hours after your test arrives at the lab. The partnership and cost arrangement only applies to the testing sites named above. It does not apply to all Crush the Curve testing sites around the state or other medical testing partners.
