As a parent, one of the most difficult things to go through in life is caring for a child with a terminal illness.
During hospital stays and treatments, families often receive extra support and gifts, but once they go home, most of that stops.

That's why one Eagle mom created an organization to help those parents during the most difficult times.
Corwyn's cause continues the legacy of Megan Schomer's four-year-old son who died of a rare brain condition two years ago.
The group hosted a Sunshine Gala at JUMP Boise Saturday to spread the word and raise money for services they offer local families.

"For me, Corwyn was my sunshine, so anytime we can shine on other families-- that is keeping his life with me," Schomer said.

The theme of this year's gala was "Mad Hatter Tea Party" from Alice in Wonderland. The event included a dinner and both silent and live auctions.
