BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County Coroner's office has released the cause of death after a man was found dead at the Ada County Jail on July 25.

The Coroner says 42-year-old David L. McClure died of mixed drug intoxication (methamphetamine and mitragynine), but contributing factors were chronic alcohol abuse and hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

His death has been ruled an accident.

The Ada County Sheriff's office says there were no signs of foul play and no obvious traumatic injuries visible on McClure, and that he seemed to have died in his sleep. McClure was booked into the jail early that Wednesday evening on a failure to appear warrant.

Officials say deputies had done a visual check on McClure every half hour, and he was found unresponsive at 7:00 a.m.
