NAMPA, Ida. — Leaders in Nampa are welcoming feedback from the community on the city's Comprehensive Master Plan during a town hall Thursday.
Attendees at the event will hear a brief presentation from Mayor Debbie Kling and staff on the update to Nampa’s Comprehensive Master Plan, used to guide growth and development in Nampa, and then have an opportunity to ask staff questions and provide input. The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 6 at Nampa City Hall on 3rd Street South.
Mayor Kling said, “I am committed to listening to our citizens and providing opportunities for Nampa residents to give input on decisions impacting Nampa’s future. As part of that commitment, we invite the community to learn the progress made thus far and to provide authentic feedback on the direction we’re headed.”
In addition to the event being livestreamed, it will also be added to the City’s Facebook and staff will do their best to provide an interactive experience for residents participating remotely. The City plans to hold other town halls this summer to capture community feedback.
Nampa’s Comprehensive Master Plan is meant to represent the community's vision about where different types of development should occur and how quality of life can be enhanced for all residents. The plan covers a range of topics, including economic development, housing, land use, transportation, parks and public services. The final updated plan is anticipated to be presented to the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee before being presented to the Nampa Planning and Zoning Commission and Nampa City Council for public hearing. Nampa City Council is anticipated to vote on possible adoption later this year.
