BOISE — U.S. Highway 95 between Council and New Meadows will close overnight from 10 p.m. Sunday, July 14 to 6 a.m. Monday, July 15 as construction continues on the Weiser River Bridge.

Several overnight-only closures will be scheduled throughout the summer to accommodate bridge construction.

During those closures, a detour route will be available for vehicles, according to the Idaho Transporation Department.

Trucks and vehicles longer than 40-feet will not be able to use the detour and must find an alternate route or expect up to 12-hour delays.

Pilot cars will guide motorists through a single-lane detour on Old US-95/Fruitvale-Glendale Road, ITD officials said.

Drivers can expect up to one-hour delays during the detour.

The reconstructed bridge will include wider lanes, upgraded guardrail, and additional safety enhancements. Construction is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2019.

ITD encourages all travelers on U.S.-95 to plan ahead.
