"Now we get to work hard to figure out how we're going to achieve that goal," said Steve Hubble, project manager, Boise's Energy Future.

Boise's city government aims to power all facilities and operations electricity with 100 percent clean or renewable energy by the year 2030.

"We'll really be engaged in some detailed planning process to figure out exactly what actions we'll take to get towards the goal."

Hubble says this will scale up sustainability and climate initiatives.

"There's also opportunities for economic development. Local jobs and also have our energy system  more resilient and more reliable."

And he says the city looks forward to working with the community.

"We also look forward to engaging residents and businesses throughout the city to get their input on the project."

The city will most likely reach out to the public this fall to get input on the project.
