The Canyon County Co-Op will be opening its doors in downtown Nampa on January 19th.

The store will focus on locally farmed and produced foods from the Gem State.

Canyon County residents have responded by purchasing over 1000 memberships which grants discounts and access to member appreciation events.

The Co-Op will be the first of its kind in Nampa but store organizers did want to remind Idahoans that although they appreciate the membership purchases, you are not required to have one to shop there.

"The money that those folks are spending in the store is staying locally and it’s going back to the produce. The different vendors the different farmers and in return they are spending that money locally too. So it’s kind of a circle of life for downtown Nampa and keeping that money locally," Canyon County Co-Op GM Michael Worman explained.
