Canyon County Co-op aims for January opening
Posted

The Canyon County Co-op will open to customers on January 19 and it will focus on locally-farmed and produced foods.

More than 1,300 people have already purchased memberships, although memberships are not required to shop at the store. Members will receive discounts and access to member appreciation events as well as rights to vote on Co-op issues. The Co-op will be the first of its kind for Nampa.

“The money that these folks are spending in the store is staying locally and it’s going back to the produce, the different vendors, the different farmers, and in return they are spending that money locally, too. So it’s kind of a circle of life for downtown Nampa and keeping that money locally,” said Canyon County Co-op general manager Michael Worman.
