CANYON COUNTY — The Canyon County Elections Office announced 21 polling locations for voters will be open on Election Day, November 3.
“This is truly a credit to our community, who responded in force this week to our call for more poll workers,” said Clerk Chris Yamamoto. “Their willingness to serve and help with the election will allow us to quadruple the number of polling locations that we had initially planned to open on Election Day.”
The 21 locations are precinct specific, meaning voters will need to go to their designated polling location in order to cast their ballot. The full list of voting locations is listed below and on the Canyon County Elections website.
Mailers will be sent to all registered voters informing them of their Election Day polling locations.
“The support from our community will also allow us to open five times as many early voting locations than we ever have in the past,” said Yamamoto. “We’ve always done early voting out of one location, our Elections Office, so going to five is a big expansion of the early voting process in Canyon County. When you add in the fact that any registered voter can vote at any of the five early voting locations, it’s a big win for voters.”
Four of the in-person early voting locations will open on October 19 as required by State statute, and the O'Connor Field House will open a week earlier on October 13. The last day to vote early is October 30.
Voters are encouraged to preregister to vote ahead of the October 9 deadline by clicking here or going to the Canyon County Elections Office in Caldwell. Voters can also use idahovotes.gov to request an absentee ballot.
Absentee ballots must be returned to the Elections Office by 8 p.m. on November 3 in order to be counted.
