A legend of the Caldwell Night Rodeo has been remembered during tonight's championship. In 2002, Lee Akin set the arena record for bull riding with 94 points. His record still stands to this day. Five years later, Lee suffered a traumatic brain injury when the bull he was riding stepped on his skull.  He's since made a remarkable recovery but is still healing. Tonight the Caldwell Night rodeo recognized the cowboy and his contribution to the sport.

"As far as where concerned you come to Caldwell Night Rodeo and you participated here, your part of the family here and Lee holds a special place for us," said CNR President and Caldwell Police Chief Frank Wyant.
