Keeping your dollars here at home, that's the focus of the annual Buy Idaho meeting and trade show at the Idaho Statehouse.
Dozens of local businesses filled the state house rotunda on Wednesday, showcasing their products and services. The event reinforces to lawmakers the importance of supporting and growing businesses and income in the state. Members say it’s a great way to get exposure and learn about Idaho products and services.
“We are local, and we are part of the community. That’s what we really do and that’s what we really strive to be a part of,” said attendee Damon Baugh, chef and owner of Kanak Attack, a local restaurant. “Especially things like this. We have people that have had weddings with us 12 or 13 years ago and they still remember our food. The idea to be a part of something like this was pretty cool.”
Buy Idaho is a nonprofit organization with members throughout the state. If you would like to become a member just check them out at buyidaho.org or visit the showroom at 6th and Broad in downtown Boise.
