BOISE, Idaho — Boise State University will hold its second annual Bronco Giving Day on Thursday, September 12. The 36-hour online giving campaign makes it easy for alumni, donors and friends to support their choice of 45 different funds from across the university.

Last year, as part of the first Bronco Giving Day, more than 900 Bronco alumni and fans nationwide raised $329,000 to support students and programs.

The media is invited to visit Boise State on Thursday, when a number of visual activities are planned related to Bronco Giving Day. Here are some highlights:

  • Boise State’s Student Impact Board will be on the Quad from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday. At noon, they will be handing out pizza to students who share Giving Day on their social media platforms and engaging them in games, giveaways and a bike raffle.
  • The Bronco Giving Day "war room" opens at 6 a.m. Thursday in the Alumni and Friends Center. Big screens will display in real-time where gifts are coming from and display the donation total as it climbs.
  • Boise State President Marlene Tromp will announce the day’s total during the Bronco Giving Day Wrap-up Celebration at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 13, in the Alumni and Friends Center Ballroom. She will be joined by Buster Bronco and the Blue Thunder Marching Band.
