A man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, domestic battery, rape and resisting/obstructing officers after police were contacted about a disturbance at a motel on the 2600 block of West Fairview Avenue.
Officers arrived at the motel at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 21st and witnesses told police that a man had detained a woman inside of a room and held her against her will.
Police found the victim and determined that she had domestic battery and sexual assault used against her. The victim was known by the suspect.
When the suspect was confronted by police, he became aggressive and confrontational according to BPD.
The suspect then reached into his bag and officers used a Taser to stop him.
After safely restraining the man, officers identified the suspect as Jay J. Roberts and booked him into Ada County Jail.
The victim in this case is receiving support assistance through the Boise Police Department Victim Services Unit.
