BOISE, Idaho — Boise State University president Marlene Tromp is giving her first State of the University address on campus. According to Boise State, President Tromp will provide an overview of recent accomplishments and a look ahead to the opportunities, priorities and goals of the university in the near future.

"As I look forward to the future of Boise State, what I think about is how extraordinary a place this is in terms of its openness and willingness to be innovative and to be focused on the needs of the community and the students. It's very rare actually, I think, in higher ed, for a whole institution to have a character of being open to change and innovation," said President Tromp.

The State of the University address is open to the public. It is being held at the Morrison Center starting at 10 Wednesday morning. Classes at Boise State start on August 26.
