BOISE — Fans attending events at Albertsons Stadium in 2020 will find a major change-- Boise State will now only allow clear bags inside its home stadium.

In an announcement on Friday, University officials say fans will only be allowed to bring one clear plastic or vinyl bag up to 12 X 6 X 12 inches, a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, or a purse, bag or clutch no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches.

Large purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, luggage, computer bags or any other bags larger than the new guidelines will no longer be allowed.

The new policy will go into effect following the conclusion of this football season. It will start in 2020, but will not be in place during any postseason games or the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

While the first change in policy will not include ExtraMile Arena, university officials say the plan is that the entire campus would eventually move to a clear-bag policy.
