Greenstone Properties has given up the idea of a downtown sports complex after people made it clear that they didn't want an arena near the corner of Shoreline Drive and Americana Boulevard on a site owned by St. Lukes.
The sports complex would serve as the future home of the Boise Hawks and has a goal of being the home of a professional soccer club.
The project isn't done just yet, Greenstone Properties is trying to develop the stadium in a new area near the corner of Main Street and Whitewater Park Boulevard in an empty lot.
It remains to be seen on how the public will see this new location for a sports stadium, however another key component is funding, people have also been outspoken about using taxes to pay for a stadium that the city wouldn't own until the arena becomes 20-years-old.
The City of Boise has budgeted three million dollars in their 2019 budget to go towards building the stadium.
