We've seen a massive outpouring of love and support from the Boise community all this week, helping the refugee families who were impacted by Saturday's mass-stabbing attack in which eight people were injured and a child killed at a Boise apartment complex. And now, another business is helping out. The Studio, an elite salon and spa in downtown Boise is donating 100 percent of its profits this Saturday to help the family of the three-year-old who was murdered in the attack.
The heinous crime hit close to home for some at the salon.
"I'm actually married to a refugee from Iraq and her family knows the family well," said Studio owner David Madvin. "So, being in the immigrant community and then being down at the vigil with my wife and her family and seeing how many people from Boise showed up was just overwhelming to me."
The fundraiser starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and runs through the day. They plan to help pay for funeral expenses for the victim, Ruya Kadir, and help her family in any way possible.
