Boise Rescue Mission Ministries prepares for Thanksgiving banquets

Rescue Mission in need of turkey donations
Posted

The Boise Rescue Mission is busy preparing for its upcoming Thanksgiving banquets.

Hot turkey meals and all the trimmings will be served to hungry and homeless guests. Free holiday food boxes will also be available for Treasure Valley families in need.

Organizers expect to provide more than 2,000 meals and more than 1,700 food boxes during the banquets.

"There's a lot of people in our community who have this need for a little help," said Rev. Bill Roscoe, President of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. "You know, many of these people...most of them are not homeless. They're working, they have a job, they have families, they're taking care of business...but, just having that little extra help at the holiday really means a lot to them."

Tickets to the banquet are sold out, but the Boise Rescue Mission is in need of turkey donations and volunteers to help put together those food boxes.
