Boise Police: Two arrested after shots fired call

BOISE, Idaho — Two men have been arrested after Boise Police responded to a shots fired call at 5:30 Thursday morning. The call was in the area of W. Main St. and N. Garden St.

According to a news release from the Boise Police Department, a vehicle was shot at by people in another vehicle as both cars were driving. The victim's vehicle was hit but nobody was injured.

After an initial investigation, BPD officers identified and located the suspects and their vehicle. The release stated officers learned there had been an earlier altercation between the two groups at Myrtle and Capitol.

After an investigation into the earlier incident, one suspect, Donovan Leavitt, 25, of Kuna, is charged with aggravated assault and destruction of evidence. Triston Vangerpen, 18, of Meridian was found to be traveling with Leavitt by BPD and has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

The investigation is ongoing and no more information is available at this time.
